Get up every hour for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

Some people might have heard about the health threatening effects of sitting too much. More and more studies show that people who spend a lot of time sedentary have a higher risk for back pain, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, certain types of cancer and other conditions.

When it comes to sitting and health it seems that it’s not just about the amount of time we spend seated but also about how often we break it up. So the question is: Are we sitting nonstop or do we get up regularly. The latter is definitely the better choice for our health. You don’t have to break a sweat for being active. Just get up, take a few steps and stairs, a little bit stretching and lets keep going.
